The Alfriston greeting card features an illustration from the early Landmark collection, a series inspired by well-loved local places and the character of familiar landscapes. First developed during the first covid lockdown, these designs have become favourites within the local community.
The Alfriston card has a view from the Cuckmere valley, with the clergy house and Alfriston church in the background, and the Cuckmere river with a swan.
Influenced by the bold composition of vintage railway posters, the illustrations reinterpret classic travel imagery through a colourful, contemporary lens. The artwork carries a playful, slightly naïve quality, combining simple forms, rich colour and a sense of nostalgic charm.
